It’s really no surprise that you are most productive when you’re happy and in a good mood. A cheerful person radiates positivity and makes others happy as well! Isn’t that fantastic? Wouldn’t you love to be that person? Read along as I share 17 simple but powerful ideas to instantly improve your mood and brighten your day!

1. Make a list of everything you’re grateful for! 

Counting our blessings and keeping gratitude journals can positively impact our mood since we focus on what we have rather than worrying about what we don’t.

2. Spend some time with your fur babies. 

(If you have companion animals, which I highly recommend!). Their antics and face licks will surely put a smile on your face! If you don’t have any furry friends of your own, you can always volunteer at an animal shelter. You can’t possibly imagine how affectionate the animals there are!

3. This takes me to my next point: SMILE! 

It instantly adds a glow to your face! I can already imagine the glow on your face as you read this! Yes, you! That smile looks beautiful on you!

4. Good food = Good mood. 

Indulging in your favorite food once in a while improves your mood

Allow yourself to indulge in your favorite food. Dark chocolate is especially helpful in alleviating signs of anxiety and depression. If your favorite food is something healthy, that’s great! However, if cheese-laden pizzas are your choice, take care not to indulge too often. Keep your health in mind. There should be a fine line between occasionally indulging in your favorite meal and making food your go-to comfort option when stressed or depressed.

5. Declutter your workstation, room, or home! 

It is analogous to decluttering your mind, making room for happier thoughts! Here’s how you get started on your decluttering journey.

6. Hang out with your homies! 

Did you just remember someone with whom you haven’t caught up in a while? Yes, it is obviously time to meet them!

(If you’re one of the lucky people that lives seaside!)

(unless you’re expecting an important call), and stay away from social media! They can suck your happiness away like parasites!

Yoga, aerobics, dance, weight training, or any other exercise you like.  Physical activity of any kind will improve your mood dramatically.

13. Have some fun in the sun!

If possible, take a 15-minute nap. Nothing like a good snooze for recharging your batteries. However, this is a practice best done with caution and control. Because it is easy to be tempted to oversleep, and oversleeping, on the other hand, might make you cranky and lethargic. The exact opposite of what you wanted in the first place!
